3 Tips for Hosting the Perfect BBQ
The human race until recent centuries used to cook and eat outside, nowadays we are seeing older cooking methods becoming popular through choice rather that a necessity, much of this can be attributed to warmer weather but much of it is in our roots. Cooking on a charcoal BBQ or even a portable bbq isn’t all plain sailing though. It can be made a lot easier by making sure you have the right Charcoal BBQ or portable BBQ.
While many people when choosing their charcoal BBQ or portable BBQ will head straight for the biggest and baddest that they can find, this for the majority is where they go wrong although they maybe impressive. Because of the sheer size of some of these larger charcoal BBQ’s over portable BBQ’s, it will use more fuel, so to ensure your sausages are not cremated you will need to get used to the variations in cooking times.
The best bet is to buy a Charcoal BBQ or Portable BBQ that will be the right size for the typical BBQ you will be holding, there is no point buying a larger one “to be on the safe side”. If you are clever with when you put certain foods on the BBQ you can be far more efficient and therefore not really need a huge BBQ. By choosing one that is just big enough will give you the experience you need to feel comfortable around a charcoal or portable BBQ.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you are getting a permanent charcoal BBQ or a portable BBQ you need to give serious thought to where you are going to be using it. consider the surface you are placing the BBQ on, are you shielded from wind and rain?. Love thy neighbour – make sure smoke and noise are not going to cause your neighbour to be complaining about your BBQ. BBQ’s can often be quite noisy events so if you are not inviting your neighbours, at least pre warn them about it. Where you choose to put your charcoal BBQ also needs to have good access for your guests but also the ability to protect it from pets, wildlife, children and ball games is essential.
A lot of the above also comes under the banner of safety after all you are playing with fire and as such safety for you, your guests and animals needs to be of prime importance to help make the use of your charcoal BBQ or portable BBQ a happy and enjoyable experience. Ensure there is nothing that could catch fire if a gust of wind blew some hot embers. Also make sure that your charcoal BBQ or portable BBQ is fit for it’s purpose and is constructed of strong enough materials and isn’t likely to collapse or tip over while you are using it.
