Freezer Buying Tips

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 26 November 2008No Comment

two_freezersThere are 2 common freezer styles: upright (front loading) and chest (top loading). Chest freezers are 10-25 percentage more effective than uprights because they’re better isolated and air does not pour out when the door is opened. However, you should as well consider appliance when choosing a freezer; chest models can be harder to organize.
Manual defrost freezers are more usual than automatic defrost models. Manual defrost models consume 35-40 percent less energy than comparable automatic defrost models. Because a freezer is opened less frequently than a refrigerator, frost won’t build up as quickly as it might in manual defrost refrigerators. Automatic defrost freezers may dry up frozen foods, causing freezer burn.
